The lights stayed on… but no one knew it was him. After the Texas flood stole 8-year-old Cile Steward from her family, they were left with more than grief—they were drowning in bills: boats, divers, gas, even the funeral. Subsequently, assistance arrived, but it was anonymous. Fuel was paid. Searchlights appeared. They thought it was God. It was Steph Curry. Weeks after he quietly held Cile’s mother at the riverbank, he became the man who kept their world from collapsing.
It’s been over a month now since little 8-year-old Cile Steward went missing despite the best efforts of rescue and recovery teams.
She was a camper at Camp Mystic when the Guadalupe River flooded and swept her away. She is the last remaining missing camper.
Thank you to everyone for your concern about the recovery of our sweet Cile. Her body has still not been found. We do remain hopeful, the family says.
“Steward was a courageous, funny, plucky force of nature,” said friends of her family.
“I dreamed about her last night…” — Cile Steward’s mother finally spoke, revealing a haunting clue after days of silence
After nearly a week of absolute silence, the mother of Cile Steward—the 8-year-old girl who went missing in the Camp Mystic flood—finally appeared in public. Her face was haggard, her eyes were red, but her hands were still tightly holding a worn-out teddy bear—Cile’s favorite toy.
