Tragedy struck in Green Township on Wednesday afternoon after an Amazon delivery driver, identified as David Didusch, succumbed to life-threatening injuries sustained in a crash while delivering a package.
According to local authorities, Green Township officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at approximately 4:38 p.m. in the 4300 block of Hutchinson Road.
Investigators say Didusch had parked his Amazon delivery van southbound on Hutchinson Road and was crossing the street to deliver a package when he was struck by the rear of a northbound Ford F-250 truck hauling an empty flatbed trailer. Police believe the Amazon driver failed to allow the oncoming truck to pass before crossing the road, resulting in the fatal collision.
Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and quickly transported Didusch to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he later died due to the severity of his injuries.
The driver of the Ford truck did not remain at the scene following the incident, but authorities were able to locate the individual later that evening. As of now, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The Green Township Police Department is urging anyone with information related to the crash to come forward. Witnesses or individuals who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident are encouraged to contact the Green Township Traffic Unit at 513-574-0007.
David Didusch’s death has shaken the local delivery community and raised concerns about road safety for those working in high-traffic areas. Friends and coworkers are mourning the loss of a dedicated employee whose life was cut tragically short while on duty.
