Body of Missing Teen Aaron Ramirez Recovered After Aqueduct Crash Near Patterson

Patterson, CA – Recovery diver Juan Heredia has reported that the body of 15-year-old Aaron Ramirez, missing since a Tuesday morning crash into the California Aqueduct, has been found.

The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. just north of Sperry Avenue along I-5. According to the California Highway Patrol, the SUV Aaron was traveling in with his father made an “unsafe” move from the fast lane to the slow lane before veering off the right shoulder. The vehicle traveled down an embankment, continuing northeast for about 1,000 feet, crashing through two barbed-wire fences before plunging into the aqueduct.

Aaron’s father was found deceased inside the SUV when it was pulled from the water. At the time, authorities were unaware Aaron had also been in the vehicle, as he was not found inside during recovery.

While authorities have not yet formally confirmed Heredia’s report, a fire engine and emergency crews are now on the scene near the crash site.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Ramirez family during this devastating time.
