Sierra County, CA – A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman discovered at a remote campsite, according to the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office.
Early Friday morning, deputies responded to reports of a possible deceased individual at a dispersed campsite south of the Sierra Brooks community. Upon arrival, they located a woman who had died and found an “incoherent male” at the scene.
Due to the suspicious circumstances, the sheriff’s office requested assistance from the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Science and detectives with the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, identified as Jesse James Dallman of Sun Valley, Nevada, was taken into custody on homicide-related charges. Authorities have not released further details about the victim or the events leading up to her death.
Deputies believe the incident was isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to public safety. The investigation remains active.
