Authorities are investigating a shootout between a Ralphs grocery store security guard and a suspect in downtown San Diego on Friday afternoon.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:53 p.m. outside the Ralphs at 1st Avenue and G Street. Police say both the security guard and the suspect exchanged gunfire.
A federal agent who witnessed the incident pursued the suspect and detained them at 1st Avenue and E Street.
The cause of the confrontation remains under investigation, and no injuries have been reported.
