Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Thursday morning in north St. Louis County.

Police were called to the 10000 block of Sheffingdell Court around 3:30 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
