Illinois State Police have identified 47-year-old Alassane Tchandikou of Hinsdale as the man who died after being struck on the Dan Ryan Expressway in a hit-and-run early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred on August 6 at approximately 1:46 a.m. in the outbound lanes near 95th Street. Authorities say Tchandikou was involved in a separate crash before exiting his vehicle, at which point he was struck by a passing white Kia.
Tchandikou was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police have since identified the driver of the Kia as 34-year-old Marques D. Worrell of Chicago. Worrell has been arrested and charged with one felony count of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death.
Illinois State Police have not released further details as the investigation continues.
