Memphis Rapper Cmoney, Cordney Smith, Killed in Weekend Frayser Shootout

Cordney Smith, known professionally as Memphis rapper Cmoney and one half of the rap duo Fast Cash Boyz, tragically lost his life during a weekend shootout in a Frayser neighborhood.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers were called to the area near Macaulay Drive and Macaulay Cove around 12:20 a.m. on Sunday following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found multiple homes struck by bullets.

Continuing their search nearby, police discovered a man fatally shot near Maritavia Street and Georgian Drive, about half a mile from the initial scene. On Monday morning, a family member confirmed the victim was Cordney Smith, aka Cmoney.

Footage obtained by NWSCHAIN shows vehicles involved in the shootout at the initial location, with multiple gunshots fired from the cars. The video also shows one vehicle reversing with its passenger door open during the chaotic incident.

The circumstances surrounding the shootout remain under investigation as the community mourns the loss of a talented artist whose life was cut tragically short.
