With hearts broken but full of love, we share that Chandler Joseph Hoover, lovingly known as “Chan Man,” passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at just 20 years old from injuries sustained in a car accident. His passing leaves an unfillable void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Born on February 17, 2005, in Muskegon to Rachael Weinert and Eric Hoover, Chandler spent his life rooted in the community he loved. A proud 2023 graduate of Reeths-Puffer High School, Chandler carried his strong work ethic into adulthood.
He was currently working alongside his stepdad, Jeremy Griffin, at R & R Landscape and Supply, all while pursuing his vocational certificate in Residential and Commercial Construction—a testament to his ambition and determination to build a meaningful future.
Chandler was a young man who embraced life with open arms. Whether he was riding his dirt bike, snowmobiling through fresh winter trails, or driving his beloved Audi alongside friends from the Audi Club, he found joy in movement, adventure, and camaraderie.
He loved the outdoors—hiking, hunting, fishing—and cherished time spent with those closest to him. His humor was quick, his loyalty steadfast, and his determination inspiring.
He leaves behind a family who adored him: his mom and stepdad, Rachael and Jeremy Griffin; his dad, Eric Hoover; his sister, Morgyn (Star Guevara) Weinert; his stepbrother, Barrett Griffin; grandmothers, Sue Weinert and Susan Pearson; aunts and uncles, Darren & Christy Brandt, John & Shanna Mabrito, and Melissa Hoover; cousins, Caleb, Allie, Christian, Matt, Mark, Carly, and Nick; his best friend, Cole Rust; and his loyal White German Shepherd, Bentley. Chandler is reunited in heaven with his grandfathers, Larry Weinert and Joseph Hoover, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
Chandler’s laughter, grit, and love will be deeply missed every single day. His memory will live on in the trails he rode, the roads he traveled, and the countless hearts he touched.
A Funeral Service to honor Chandler’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor Jeremy Wegner officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.
