Authorities have identified the man fatally shot early Tuesday in Cudahy as 39-year-old Miguel Santoyo Meza.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station responded to a call at approximately 1:54 a.m. in the 4900 block of Clara Street, just east of Atlantic Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found Meza suffering from gunshot wounds.

Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel pronounced Meza dead at the scene. Details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain limited, and investigators have not yet released information regarding a possible suspect or motive.

Homicide Lt. Michael Modica confirmed that detectives are actively working the case and are urging community members to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying those responsible.
