Tragic Accident Claims Life of 43-Year-Old San Antonio Woman While Panhandling

The San Antonio community is mourning the loss of 43-year-old Jennifer Eureste, who tragically passed away from blunt force injuries sustained in a vehicle collision. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled her death an accident.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the incident occurred just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of South General McMullen and Castroville Road. Eureste was reportedly panhandling in the area when she was struck by a vehicle.

Authorities say the driver, a man in his mid-70s, told officers he had difficulty seeing while driving at night. Investigators reported that he drove his sedan onto the median where Eureste was standing.

First responders rushed Eureste to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she later succumbed to her injuries.

Police noted that the driver remained at the scene and attempted to render aid to Eureste following the collision. No charges have been announced at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
