Colchester authorities on Wednesday identified a man whose body was pulled from the Winooski River on Saturday.

The man has been identified as Jeremy Stone, 42, transient but believed to be living in Winooski. Burlington and Colchester responders had helped recover Stone’s body, with the operation reportedly taking place on the Colchester side of the river across from the Intervale Center.

The cause of Stone’s death is yet to be determined, but an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with possible information in the case is asked to call Detective Corporal Michael West of the Colchester police at (802) 264-5555.
