Grass Valley Man Arrested in Connection to Nevada City Homicide

Authorities have arrested a man in connection with the July death of a local resident. Adrian Aaron Aaby, 48, of Grass Valley, was found deceased on the side of Banner Quaker Hill Road on July 21. Following an investigation by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Aaby’s death was determined to be a homicide.

Investigators identified 49-year-old Damon Brice Abraham, also of Grass Valley, as a person of interest. Abraham was taken into custody on August 7 in Sacramento on unrelated charges after a search warrant was executed at his Grass Valley residence.

Abraham has now been formally charged with murder in connection to Aaby’s death. He is set to be transferred to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility in Nevada City. The investigation into the case is ongoing as authorities continue to gather additional details.
