Authorities have confirmed the identity of the woman fatally shot in Fairfield County, South Carolina, earlier this week as 37-year-old Laporsha Jasma Farr of Spartanburg.
The incident took place Tuesday when deputies from the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence. Upon arrival, they found Farr unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the neck and another victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip. Despite lifesaving efforts, Farr was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that a dispute had broken out inside the home, during which Jerry Jones of Greenville allegedly shot both victims.
On Thursday morning, authorities in Greenville County engaged in a tense three-hour standoff with Jones, ultimately taking him into custody. In addition to Jones’s arrest, two other men—Benny Grady and William Mack—were charged as accessories after the fact in connection to the case.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to uncover further details surrounding the events that led to the tragic death of Laporsha Jasma Farr.
