A young mother, identified as Keonna Major of Huntsville, was tragically shot and killed this morning in a devastating act of violence. Police say the suspect, 28-year-old Marquel Wiley, fled the scene on foot, prompting an immediate search and lockdown of Huntsville schools as a precaution.

Authorities report that Wiley ran into a nearby wooded area, where he was later located and taken into custody without further incident. He is now facing a charge of capital murder in connection with Keonna’s death.
