The North Dakota Highway Patrol has confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who died in a fatal crash on August 9, 2025, in Fargo. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Alex Frank.
The crash involved a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Broadway and 29th Avenue North. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike after failing to stop at a red light, resulting in fatal injuries. A memorial, including a wooden cross and flowers, has been placed at the site in honor of Frank.
The motorcycle involved in the crash was reported stolen by Fargo resident Sophia Lundgren, who purchased the Yamaha sport bike just weeks prior to the incident. She had filed a police report after discovering her bike missing, unaware of the tragic connection until seeing news reports. Lundgren expressed shock and sorrow over the incident, saying, “It’s incredibly hard thinking about ‘this poor choice led to something worse.’”
Family members of Alex Frank shared that he had been battling substance abuse but was making progress toward recovery and striving to regain custody of his children. Friends remember him as a social and caring individual.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Valley News Live has reached out to Frank’s family for comment.
A GoFundMe page has been set up in Frank’s memory, and the Fargo community continues to mourn the loss of a young man whose life was tragically cut short.
