A Chicago man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy last weekend on the city’s southwest side.
Authorities report that the incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of West Mann Drive, in the Marquette Park neighborhood. Police say 52-year-old Alfredo Mejia allegedly produced a sharp object and sexually assaulted the teen.
Mejia has been charged with one felony count of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a weapon. He appeared in court earlier this week for a detention hearing.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office has been contacted for additional details. Police continue to investigate the incident.
Authorities urge anyone with further information to contact the Chicago Police Department.
