Louisville Man Identified as Victim in Fatal I-75 Crash Near Clays Ferry Bridge

Authorities have identified 40-year-old Yunier Gonzalez of Louisville as the man killed in a crash on southbound I-75 near the Clays Ferry Bridge on Thursday morning.

According to the Lexington Police Department, officers were called to the scene just after 10 a.m. near mile marker 97 for reports of an injury collision. Investigators say Gonzalez had been outside his vehicle on the right shoulder when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed Gonzalez died from multiple blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled accidental.

Another person involved in the incident was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash led to significant traffic delays as emergency crews worked at the scene. Authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
