The East Tennessee community mourns the loss of Ken Schwall, a beloved WBIR legend whose personality and warmth left an indelible mark on viewers and colleagues alike.

Ken loved his role as a TV personality, not just for the chance to share his own charisma, but for the opportunity to highlight and celebrate his audience. As former WBIR boss Jeff Lee reflected upon Ken’s retirement a decade ago, “They loved him, and he loved them back.”

Today, we remember our friend Ken for his unwavering positivity, his infectious smile, and the countless moments of joy he brought to so many. He will be deeply missed by viewers, coworkers, and friends across East Tennessee.
