What began as a street fight broadcast live on Facebook spiraled into a violent and chaotic scene Friday morning, ending with three people shot and a 21-year-old man in custody.
Authorities identified the suspect as Jordan Malik Wright of Johnston, who now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The incident unfolded around 10:41 a.m. near Walnut and Rosa Hill Streets, where a witness live-streamed a fight between several women. The video showed the brawl escalating, with punches thrown, hair pulling, and shouting, before chaos erupted when gunfire broke out.
Gunshots sent bystanders scrambling for cover, and at least one woman could be heard screaming that she had been shot. Deputies later learned that three victims had already been rushed to hospitals in private vehicles. One victim, struck in the chest, was airlifted in critical condition to Wellstar MCG in Augusta.
The victims were identified as Moesha Hightower and Mysterious Morton, Wright’s girlfriend. Wright himself sustained injuries but was treated and later booked into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center in Augusta, pending extradition to Edgefield County.
Sheriff Jody Rowland confirmed that deputies recovered two bullet-riddled vehicles — a Nissan Murano and a gray Nissan Maxima — from the Edgefield County Hospital parking lot. Another man, Lasavion Johnson, was initially considered a suspect but is now believed to have acted in self-defense.
Wright has a prior criminal history, including charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in 2024.
The investigation remains ongoing.
