It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our union brother, Steven Kuczynski, a dedicated Skilled Maintainer at Southbury Training School. Steven was involved in a tragic accident on Tuesday and, despite every effort, he passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Steven’s untimely loss has left the STS community deeply shaken. His passing serves as a solemn reminder of the risks our members face each day in service to others. More than just a skilled and reliable worker, Steven was a respected colleague and friend whose presence brought strength and unity to those around him.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Steven’s family, friends, and coworkers during this devastating time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this unimaginable loss.

As we grieve together, let us also honor Steven’s memory by reaffirming our commitment to safety and by continuing to support one another, both at work and beyond.
