A tragic crash in East Windsor early Sunday morning has claimed the life of 27-year-old Jared Charette.
The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Rye Street, between Ellsworth Boulevard and Plantation Road. According to police, Charette’s truck went off the road, striking a guardrail before crashing into a utility pole. The vehicle flipped and came to rest in a grassy area, suspended by power lines.
When first responders arrived, they found Charette lying unconscious in the roadway. Officers and emergency crews performed CPR but were unable to revive him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash also caused a temporary power outage in the area, with Eversource reporting five households without service. Crews remained on site to restore power and clear the roadway, which has been closed while the investigation continues.
No additional details have been released at this time.
