Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of Da Real Von in the South Frogtown neighborhood early Saturday morning. Just before 4:15 a.m., Saint Paul police responded to the 300 block of Edmund Avenue following reports of gunfire.

Officers found Da Real Von lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his chest and neck. Responders immediately began CPR before he was transported by Saint Paul Fire medics to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Law enforcement reports indicate that the suspect arrived in a rideshare vehicle and fled on foot through the back of a nearby residence. The suspect is described as a Black male in his early 20s, approximately six feet tall, with dreads, a heavier build, and wearing a black top. Police set a perimeter, deployed canine units, and used a drone in the search, but no arrests have been made.

Detectives have interviewed witnesses, and crime scene investigators have documented evidence at the scene. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to confirm the official cause of death.
