A tragic accident in Greenbank has claimed the life of a man following a single-vehicle crash on Friday night, August 16.
Around 10 p.m., emergency services were called to New Beith Road after reports of a Volkswagen Amarok rollover. Upon arrival, paramedics found the 31-year-old driver from New Beith with critical injuries. Despite their efforts, he sadly died at the scene.
Two passengers, a 36-year-old man from Regents Park and a 35-year-old man from Eagleby, were treated for minor injuries before being transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further care.
The Forensic Crash Unit has commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the rollover.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage from the area at the time is urged to come forward.
