The Indianapolis community is reeling after a juvenile was shot and killed early Sunday morning on the near northeast side of the city.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers were dispatched to The Grounds apartment complex, located near Central Avenue and 22nd Street, at approximately 2:43 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male inside a fourth-floor apartment who had been shot. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say a party was being held in the apartment before the shooting occurred. At this time, it is unclear what led to the violence. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim.
