Austin Rian Gore Obituary, Death; – One person is dead after leading members of law enforcement on a chase through two counties, ultimately losing control and crashing into a pole in Huntsville, according to the Huntsville Police Department.

Just before 11 p.m. Sunday, Huntsville Police officers were notified of a vehicle pursuit that began in Fayetteville, Tennessee, by the Fayetteville Police Department. The pursuit, which continued south on Highway 231/431 into Alabama, was led by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say the vehicle was being pursued for reckless driving and continued to drive recklessly as officers attempted to stop it. As the fleeing offender entered Alabama, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office took over the pursuit of the vehicle in Hazel Green.

The suspect continued southbound on Highway 231/431 into the jurisdiction of the Huntsville Police Department. Huntsville officers assisted in the pursuit, but the Madison County Sheriff’s Office remained the lead agency.

Police say the fleeing suspect approached a construction zone near Mastin Lake Road at a high rate of speed. The fleeing driver lost control, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole. The driver, who police identified as 21-year-old Austin Rian Gore, was the only occupant in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Members of Huntsville Police’s Traffic Homicide Unit responded to assist the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with the investigation. Police say they have not completed their full investigation into the incident at this time.
