Larry Covalciuc Obituary, Death; – An individual from Arkansas has been sentenced to prison following a collision that resulted in the death of a man from Council Bluffs last year.

Adam Cooper has been sentenced to 2 years and 7 months for charges including motor vehicle homicide, reckless driving, and attempted failure to stop and provide assistance in the fatality of 82-year-old Larry Covalciuc.

As per court records, the Cherry County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of an accident involving a bicyclist, who was later identified as Covalciuc, on Highway 20 near Valentine in June 2024.

Upon the deputy’s arrival at the scene, Covalciuc exhibited no signs of life, according to the court documents.

Investigators concluded that a black Dodge pickup truck was involved in the incident, and Cooper was identified as the driver, as stated in the court documents.
