Marvin Wayne Andrews Obituary, Death; – A man from Vinton passed away last week after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a deer.

On Wednesday, August 13, around noon, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls reporting a motorcyclist down on the road at Benson Shady Grove Avenue, close to 280th Street, south of Jesup, as per information shared by the sheriff’s office on social media.

First responders discovered that Marvin Wayne Andrews, 80, from Vinton, had been heading north on Benson Shady Grove Avenue when a deer appeared on the road. Andrews hit the deer, lost control, and crashed into a bridge guardrail.

The first sheriff’s deputy who arrived on the scene attempted to perform life-saving measures until EMS personnel arrived, but Andrews was declared dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office received assistance at the scene from the Brandon Fire Department, Jesup Ambulance Service, and the Buchanan County Medical Examiner Investigator.
