Moresee Chatman Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally struck by a vehicle on West Broad Street in Rochester during the weekend.

Moresee Chatman, aged 49, a resident of Rochester, was in the process of crossing Broad Street, close to Jay Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday, August 15, when he was hit by a vehicle traveling southbound, according to Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department. The southbound vehicle did not stop and fled the scene, he stated.

Umbrino clarified that initial reports suggesting the vehicle was racing another vehicle were incorrect. Chatman was crossing from west to east when the incident occurred, but he was not in a designated crosswalk, he noted.

Investigators are currently attempting to identify both the vehicle and the driver involved in the incident.
