Tahiana F Rakotonanahary Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified the woman who tragically passed away after her vehicle was discovered submerged in the Oswego River early on Sunday morning.
Tahiana F. Rakotonanahary, a 24-year-old resident of Syracuse, was declared deceased at the scene following the recovery of her body from a vehicle that had been extracted from the river, as stated by Oswego Police Chief Phil Cady.
The vehicle was located in proximity to West Schuyler and West First streets, according to his report.
Police and fire personnel arrived at the location at approximately 3:39 a.m. Following a search operation, emergency responders located the car submerged in 22 feet of water, Cady noted.
Rakotonanahary was the sole occupant of the vehicle, as confirmed by police.
The details surrounding the incident are still under investigation. Authorities have yet to ascertain how the vehicle came to be in the river or the duration for which it may have been submerged.
