William Michael Sandlin,Edison Kim Wallace Obituary, Death; – Rescue teams have located the remains of both boaters who disappeared on Saturday night following a collision on Pickwick Lake in Colbert County, as reported by Sheriff Eric Balentine.

Sheriff Balentine stated that one of the boaters was discovered deceased shortly after the incident, while the second boater’s body was recovered on Monday morning.

Search teams were active on the lake Saturday night, continued their efforts on Sunday, and resumed again on Monday morning until the second body was located. Authorities later confirmed the identities of the deceased as friends who often fished together, 63-year-old William Michael Sandlin and 66-year-old Edison Kim Wallace.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, an aluminum fishing boat collided with a commercial tugboat at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, resulting in the two individuals aboard the fishing vessel being thrown overboard.

Troopers from ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division, along with ALEA’s Aviation Unit, participated in the search and recovery operations. Sheriff Balentine noted that several other agencies also contributed to the investigation. The United States Coast Guard is currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
