Fire officials have yet to disclose the names of the victims officially. Nevertheless, family members provided additional information about them to Channel 3. A memorial for the victims has been established near the site of the fire on Shultas Place.

Community members gathered to leave balloons and stuffed animals, as well as to recount their memories of those who perished.

Katiria Charles mentioned that she was present outside the residence on Shultas Place following the fire. Charles informed Eyewitness News that her son’s girlfriend, 21-year-old Krystalee Hernandez, was among those who died in the blaze. She noted that they began their relationship at the age of 15, and Hernandez had lived with her for six years.

Charles identified the other three victims as Hernandez’s 25-year-old and 14-year-old sisters, along with her 3-year-old nephew.

“I believe she returned to rescue the others who were on the second and third floors, and unfortunately, she did not survive,” Charles elaborated.

Four additional family members were transported to the hospital, along with a firefighter.

All were anticipated to recover.

The Hartford Fire Department is continuing its investigation into the cause of the fire.
