Body Found at Abandoned Columbus Warehouse Identified; Homicide Investigation Underway

Police have launched a homicide investigation after a body was discovered Tuesday afternoon at an abandoned warehouse on Macon Road.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, the victim has been identified as 66-year-old Edwin Grier. Authorities say Grier suffered blunt force trauma to the head and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 5:28 p.m. on August 19, 2025.

The warehouse, located at 3150 Macon Road, was the site of the grim discovery. An autopsy has been scheduled, and officials confirmed that Grier’s family has been notified.

The Columbus Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing. Investigators are urging anyone who may have been in the area or witnessed suspicious activity to come forward.
