Brenda B Pannell Obituary, Death; – One person was killed and another was injured in a collision in Halifax County Wednesday afternoon, August 20th.

The driver of a Dodge Ram was headed south on Route 501, and crashed into a Chrysler 300 that was headed east on Stage Coach Road, according to Virginia State Police. Police say the driver of the Ram was not able to avoid the Chrysler, saying there are stop signs at the intersection of Old Stage Coach Road, but not on 501.

The driver of the Chrysler, identified as Brenda B. Pannell, 71, of Brookneal was found dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt, said VSP investigators. The driver of the Dodge Ram was found to have sustained minor injuries and also was not wearing a seatbelt, according to VSP.
