A tragic house fire claimed the life of 75-year-old Dixie Weaver, a longtime Orrstown resident, early Tuesday morning.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. inside a home along the 10400 block of Tanyard Hill Road in Franklin County. Despite the quick response of firefighters and emergency crews, Weaver could not be saved. Her death has been classified as accidental.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control and to ensure there were no flare-ups. The fire left behind significant damage to the home, and investigators remained on scene throughout the day combing through the remains for evidence to help determine the cause.
