Tatum Karter Jessie, a cherished 5-year-old from Forest Hills, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025. Born on June 18, 2020, in Morristown, Tennessee, Tatum was the beloved son of Alahna Jessie and Isaiah Birchfield.

Tatum’s joyful spirit and tender heart touched everyone around him. With his bright brown eyes and infectious laughter, he could light up any room. He loved dinosaurs, music, and snacks, and he shared his affection freely through big, warm hugs that will never be forgotten. Known for holding his mother’s face gently in his hands while sweetly saying “Mommy,” Tatum was a little boy full of love, curiosity, and laughter.

He is survived by his parents; Godparents and aunt and uncle, Madison Jessie and Grayson Cook; grandparents Ariana Jessie, Stephen Jessie, Sarah Birchfield, Leo Childress, and Ruby Ball; sister Wrenlee Whitt; aunts and uncles Kaeden (Tamara) Birchfield, Ryan Jessie, Chris Jessie, Ian Fields, Hope Collins, Serenity Martin, Sophie Varney, Cruz Marcum, and Macie Jessie; great-grandparents Barry Birchfield, Jim and Jeanne Hall, Greg and Brenda Jessie, and Sandy Fields; and cousins Bryson and Ian Birchfield, along with many other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2025, from 6–8 PM at the Williamson Fieldhouse, Williamson, WV. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12 PM at the Fieldhouse, officiated by Jerry Deskins, followed by burial at Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY. R. E.
