Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly vehicle fire that occurred earlier this week in Kalispell. Police confirmed that 60-year-old Darrin Turner, a resident of Ohio, died after a fire broke out inside a vehicle parked at the Homewood Suites Hotel on Sunday night, August 18.

According to Kalispell Police Chief Jordan Venezio, officers and emergency crews responded to the scene around 9:17 p.m. after reports of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Despite rapid response, Turner could not be saved, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kalispell Police Department continues to investigate the incident to determine what sparked the fire. While the exact cause has not yet been established, Chief Venezio stated that, at this time, there is no evidence indicating foul play. Investigators are reviewing all possible factors, including mechanical issues and accidental causes, as they work to provide clarity for Turner’s family and the community.
