Authorities have identified the victim of a tragic workplace shooting at Henry Ford Hospital as Latricia Green Brown, who was killed Friday morning by her ex-husband, according to Detroit police.

Investigators say 53-year-old Mario Green confronted his ex-wife in the basement of the hospital, where she worked, before fatally shooting her. The incident triggered a temporary lockdown of the hospital, which has since been lifted.

Police Chief Todd Bettison stated that Green fled the scene immediately after the shooting. A short time later, officers located his 2011 Dodge Charger in the city, though Green himself remains at large. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Assistant Police Chief Charles Fitzgerald confirmed that Brown had sought a personal protection order against Green just weeks earlier, though the order had not been served.

Family, friends, and colleagues are mourning Brown’s loss, remembering her as a dedicated worker and loved one whose life was cut short in an act of violence.

Police continue to search for Mario Green and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact authorities immediately.
