Authorities have announced the arrest of the final suspect in connection with the April 13 mass shooting at Fifth Avenue Park in Conway that left two people dead and nine others injured.
On Thursday evening, Arkansas State Police and U.S. Marshals apprehended Kemarie Johnson, 19, of Conway, in Pine Bluff. Johnson faces two counts of capital murder, nine counts of attempted murder, and one count of terrorism, according to Conway police.
The park shooting claimed the lives of Tatayana Penister, 24, of England, and Demetrius Feemster, 23, of Little Rock. The gunfire erupted during a crowded party, with investigators later confirming that 73 rounds were fired from at least seven different weapons.
Johnson was one of four suspects identified by police in April. Two others, Ryan Goins, 20, of Pine Bluff, and Tyler Farris, 19, of Conway, were arrested shortly after the incident. Johnson’s brother, Keydrick Johnson, 21, was taken into custody in June.
Conway police said the arrests reflect “relentless work and coordination” among local, state, and federal agencies to deliver justice for the victims and their families.
