Orangeburg Teen Antwon Carmichael Found Dead; Four Arrested in Connection with Case

Authorities have announced the arrest of four individuals in connection with the death of 18-year-old Antwon Carmichael, whose body was discovered along White House Pond Road in the Rosinville area of Orangeburg County, South Carolina.

Carmichael was found wrapped in white bedding on August 3, after deputies responded to a report of a suspicious package resembling a body. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) assisted in the investigation, releasing a forensic sketch before the victim was officially identified on August 9. Investigators determined that Carmichael had died at a residence on Peppertree Lane on or around August 2.

On Thursday, Dorchester County authorities arrested 40-year-old Jay Kirkland Sneed, 34-year-old Jessicle Mirclelynn Williams, 37-year-old Shaquanan Lashia Frayer, and 40-year-old Antoine Johmar Lott. Sneed and Williams face murder charges and being accessories before the fact to the desecration of human remains, while Frayer and Lott were charged as accessories after the fact.

Investigators credited multiple agencies, including SLED, the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office, and local and federal partners, for their critical role in solving the case.

The community continues to grapple with the tragic loss of Carmichael while authorities pursue justice.
