Maryland State Police are investigating a tragic crash that claimed the life of Camron Amirion Stroud, 21, of Upper Marlboro, on Saturday evening.

The fatal collision occurred on August 23, 2025, at approximately 7:32 p.m., along southbound Interstate 495 near the ramp to Saint Barnabas Road. According to a preliminary investigation, Stroud was operating a Suzuki motorcycle when he collided with a commercial motor vehicle traveling in the same direction.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and Stroud was transported to Capital Region Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Forestville and College Park Barracks responded, while the Maryland State Police Crash Team assumed the lead in investigating the circumstances of the crash. Personnel from the Maryland State Highway Administration also assisted with traffic management and lane closures, which lasted more than three hours as crews worked to clear the roadway and ensure safety.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the commercial vehicle involved, and the investigation remains active as police work to determine the sequence of events leading to the collision.

Meanwhile, friends, family, and members of the Upper Marlboro community are mourning the loss of Stroud, whose life was tragically cut short at just 21 years old. He is remembered for the joy and light he brought to those around him, and loved ones are preparing to honor his memory.
