It is with heavy hearts that family, friends, and loved ones mourn the passing of Brittnay Nichole Fields-Hamel, of Fairfax, Virginia.

Born on May 11, 1989, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Brittnay’s life was marked by love, resilience, and connection, but also by hardship and health struggles that she carried with strength and dignity. She was just 36 years old at the time of her passing.

Brittnay was the beloved daughter of Deborah “Debbie” Davis, who carried her own share of challenges yet instilled in her daughter a strong spirit. From an early age, Brittnay was known for her striking blue eyes, a feature that all of her daughters inherited.

Those who knew her recall her warm heart, vibrant presence, and her enduring desire to ensure her children remained connected to her story, no matter the distance or circumstances life placed between them.

Growing up in the Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax areas of Virginia, Brittnay attended local schools and built connections within her community. Her path was not always easy, but she was remembered as a kind and thoughtful soul who valued family above all else.

She later married, though her husband preceded her in death. Despite life’s hardships, she remained determined to provide love for her children. Brittnay was a devoted mother of three daughters, each of whom reflected her beauty and resilience.

Two of her older daughters were lovingly taken in and raised by their paternal families, and her youngest daughter found her forever home through adoption.

Though separated by circumstance, Brittnay always carried her daughters in her heart. In one of her last conversations, she asked that her youngest child never forget her or her siblings, a testament to her enduring love as a mother.

Her passing is especially difficult for her youngest daughter, who had long dreamed of meeting her biological mother. For years, her adoptive family sought to locate Brittnay in hopes of giving the young girl a chance to know her roots and her mother’s story.

While that reunion was never realized, Brittnay’s memory will continue to live on through the love she carried for her children and the impact she left on all who knew her.

Those mourning Brittnay’s loss have expressed gratitude to the many individuals who assisted in the search for her and who offered prayers, support, and compassion along the way.

Though her journey ended far too soon, she will be remembered as a woman of kindness, courage, and deep maternal devotion. Brittnay Nichole Fields-Hamel leaves behind her three beloved daughters, her mother Deborah Davis, extended family members, and countless others whose lives she touched.
