Cullyhana, Ireland – The community of Cullyhana is mourning the loss of Carmel O’Hare (Nee Mc Cooey), who passed away peacefully on Sunday, 24th August, at the home of her devoted daughter, Ciara, surrounded by family.

Carmel, formerly of 4 Quarry Terrace, was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe, and was the cherished daughter of the late Mary and Eugene Mc Cooey. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and care.

Her daughters, Ciara and Sinead, along with her devoted grandson Brenden and Ciara’s partner Paddy, survive her, as do her brothers Antony, Eugene, and Arthur and her sisters Maeve, Collette, Majella, and the late Noeleen. Carmel’s extended family and friends also remember her for her generosity, gentle guidance, and the countless joyful moments she shared with those around her.

Throughout her life, Carmel dedicated herself to nurturing her daughters and supporting her family through life’s challenges. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and laughter, reflecting her compassionate and thoughtful nature. Friends and relatives recall her sense of humor, gentle demeanor, and the encouragement she offered to anyone in need.
