Esther Elizalde Obituary, Death; – A 54-year-old woman who was killed in a three-vehicle collision in Hemet has been identified.

Esther Elizalde of San Jacinto was fatally injured shortly after 6 a.m. Monday in the 28000 block of Warren Road, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s office.

Police said officers responded to Warren Road and Poplar Street and found three vehicles involved, with two drivers needing medical aid. Elizalde was unresponsive, and despite life-saving efforts by paramedics, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another driver was taken to Riverside University Health System Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries. The third driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, police said. Their identities were not released.

Police said a northbound Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck on Warren Road at Poplar Street sideswiped a southbound Chevrolet Cruze, sending the Cruze into opposing lanes, where it was struck on the passenger side by a northbound Toyota Tundra.

“Impaired driving does not appear to be a factor,” police said. Anyone with information about the collision was urged to contact Officer Reineke at 951-765-2400.
