Deangelo Bennet Arrested; – The Memphis Police Department has apprehended and charged an individual who attempted to murder his sister’s boyfriend.

On August 23, law enforcement officers responded to a report of a shooting on Marianna Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that the victim and a friend were seated on the front porch when a suspect, later identified as Deangelo Bennet, arrived in a vehicle.

As stated in the affidavit, Bennet was operating a gray pickup truck and lowered his driver’s side window, declaring, “I’m going to blow your a** off.”

According to the Memphis Police Department, Bennet then opened fire, hitting the victim. The victim subsequently informed the officers that he was in a relationship with Bennet’s sister and that they had experienced a domestic dispute earlier that day.

Bennet has been taken into custody and is currently facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm to commit a dangerous felony, reckless endangerment, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
