It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francine Preskar, who passed away in an accident on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the age of 53. Francine’s life was taken too soon, leaving behind a family, friends, and community who will forever cherish her memory.
She passed peacefully with her loving family by her side at Hamilton General Hospital, surrounded by those she held most dear. Francine was a devoted wife to her husband, Edward, and a loving mother to their cherished son, Alexander.
Her family was the heart of her life, and she dedicated herself fully to nurturing, supporting, and loving them unconditionally. Her deep bond with her loved ones was evident to everyone who knew her, and her family’s grief is matched by the outpouring of love and sympathy from friends and the wider community.
Born to Amalija and Karl Preskar, Francine was the beloved daughter whose warmth and kindness brought joy to her parents’ lives. She was also a treasured sister to Lillian, married to Jesse, and Dave, married to Joyce, forming lifelong bonds of love, loyalty, and companionship.
Francine’s nieces and nephews—Cassidy, Hannah, Edyn, Bridger, and Lochlan—remember her as a constant source of encouragement, laughter, and guidance. She was also deeply loved by her in-laws, Ian and Anne Mole, her brother-in-law David Mole and his wife Jessica, and her brothers-in-law Matthew and Andrew.
Francine’s life was defined by her caring nature, compassion, and genuine love for others. She had a profound connection with her friends and extended family, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Francine had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly her beloved dog, Zima, who was a loyal companion throughout her life. Her dedication to the well-being of all living beings reflected her kind and nurturing spirit.
Professionally, Francine was a dedicated and caring Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Her commitment to her patients was unwavering, and she had a unique ability to comfort, heal, and uplift those who sought her care.
Clients often remarked on her calming presence, professionalism, and the lasting positive impact she had on their lives. Francine’s passion for her work and the empathy she displayed in her practice made her a trusted and respected member of her community.
The Funeral Mass to honor Francine was held at St. Alexander Catholic Church, 50 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill, on Friday, August 22, 2025. Following the service, interment took place at Hillside Cemetery, allowing family, friends, and community members to pay their respects and celebrate her life.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Francine’s memory may be made to the Welland & District SPCA, reflecting her lifelong love of animals and her commitment to their care and protection.
Francine Preskar’s life, though tragically cut short, was filled with love, kindness, and meaningful connections.
