With deep sadness, we share the news of the passing of Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, a 29-year-old U.S. Border Patrol agent who died by suicide on August 22, 2025, in Hemet, California.

According to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office, Hodgson was found unresponsive in the Valle Vista community, and despite immediate response, he was pronounced deceased. While authorities have stated that no evidence of foul play was found, his death remains under investigation.

Born in 1996, Isaiah grew up with a strong sense of duty and a desire to serve his country. That calling eventually led him to join the U.S. Border Patrol, where he worked to protect communities along the border and support national security.

Colleagues and peers knew him as someone willing to step into challenging and often dangerous roles—work that demanded both resilience and sacrifice. However, in recent months, Isaiah’s life took a difficult turn.

On July 7, 2025, he was involved in an incident at Shoreline Village in Long Beach that resulted in his arrest. Reports state that police responded after he entered a restaurant restroom while off duty, and when approached, he was found intoxicated and carrying a firearm.

That encounter, involving the detention of 20-year-old Adrien Andrew Martinez, a Walmart employee, sparked outrage within the community and drew protests.
