Kenda Monique Jones Obituary, Death; – Authorities have disclosed the identity of a woman who lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 59/20 in Birmingham.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Kenda Monique Jones, a 34-year-old resident of Birmingham.
The incident occurred at 3:54 a.m. on Monday on the interstate near Messer Airport Highway, as reported by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated that Jones was walking in the travel lanes when she was struck. She was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was declared dead at 10:31 a.m.

The driver remained at the scene following the incident.

Birmingham police are currently conducting an investigation.
