IOWA, L— The search for a missing Jeff Davis Parish woman ended tragically on Wednesday. Authorities discovered the body of 53-year-old Bonnie Signorelli Fontenot around 12:40 p.m. in the median between I-10 and Frontage Road near U.S. 165. Fontenot had been reported missing and was last seen on August 22, according to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office (JDPSO).
Louisiana State Police have taken over the investigation, with the JDPSO providing assistance as needed. Officials have not released details about the circumstances surrounding Fontenot’s death.
