A tragic crash in Sugar Land, Texas, claimed the life of one person and left another injured on Monday evening, shutting down much of Interstate 69 near Sweetwater Boulevard and Highway 6.

Authorities say the collision occurred shortly after 8 p.m., when an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed struck a tractor-trailer in the northbound lanes.
